Facebook on the Radio: Talking Privacy and Patient Data on NPR

March 1, 2019

I had the opportunity to speak with Bob Oakes, host of Morning Edition on WBUR, my local NPR affiliate, about one aspect of Facebook’s approach to user data privacy, specifically involving patient data in support groups. Have a listen – the segment is brief, and many have told me that it provides a good introduction to the issue. You can read more about this matter online – there are many stories about this issue as well as other Facebook privacy issues. (Here’s one news story; here’s another.) You can see the complaint a group of us filed with the Federal Trade Commission here.
