Israel Ride 2019 – Please Support Cross-Cultural Environmentalism

In November, I will be one of a merry band of cyclists riding from Jerusalem to Eilat, between 150 and 350 miles (I’m shooting for 250 miles on my recumbent bicycle). I am looking forward to the challenge and thrilled to raise money for two great organizations, the Arava Institute for Environmental Studies and Hazon. Click here to contribute.

The Arava Institute is the premier environmental teaching and research program in the Middle East, preparing future Arab and Jewish leaders to cooperatively solve the region’s environmental challenges. The Institute is working to confront the serious environmental challenges in Israel, by creating a leadership network of environmentalists through important research, and through public involvement. The Arava Institute draws students from across the Middle East, encouraging environmental cooperation between peoples, and working towards peace and sustainable development on a regional and global scale.

Hazon – the Jewish lab for sustainability – creates healthier and more sustainable communities in the Jewish world and beyond. Hazon is one of most innovative organizations in the American Jewish community and now the largest Jewish environmental organization in the United States. Through bike rides, food conferences, and other Jewish sustainability programs, Hazon brings people together, builds community, and promotes sustainability and vibrant Jewish life.

With your generosity and my pedaling, we can support the environment at this important time. Your contribution would be greatly appreciated.

I invite you to join me in supporting the great work of the Arava Institute and Hazon.

Thanks for your support!
